What will you do?
As the shop manager, you will supervise a team of mechanics, schedule company truck and equipment maintenance, keep an inventory of the parts room, order and return parts as needed among other responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities
Manage staff:
- Schedule staff efficiently to ensure smooth flow of work.
- Be a fabulous communicator with staff, management & vendors.
- Work closely with upper management to understand their hiring needs and preferences.
- Provide expert guidance to all members of your team.
- Meet and exceed given timelines
- Provide regular reports and updates on shop & staff performance
What do you need to succeed in this role?
- Minimum of 5 years as a shop supervisor or manager or proven experience in a similar role
- Strong understanding of heavy equipment, trucks & diesel equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency with computers
